Her themes most often deal with the beauty of nature with subjects ranging from intimate portraits of flowers, small animals and birds to tranquil wooded settings and grand landscapes. She is based in Monroe Michigan.

Sylvia received formal training in art at the University of Michigan where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years.

She has current work in these galleries: Ann Arbor Art Center, Toledo Museum of Art's Collector's Corner, and the River Gallery in Chelsea, MI.

Sylvia is active in the Wood Engraver's Network, serving as it's treasurer. She is also a member of Michigan Guild of Artists and Artisans in Ann Arbor MI; Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo OH, and the Ann Arbor Art Center, in Ann Arbor MI.”
