Description
This antique Dutch-style brass coal scuttle or fireside ash bucket displays a highly decorative, helmet-shaped silhouette with a brilliant polished finish. The rounded brass body features a dramatic flaring pour spout and is mounted onto a stable, stepped pedestal base. A thick brass bail handle spans the top, anchored securely to the sides by intricate cast-brass lion head mounts. Adding a beautiful touch of contrast, both the main overhead handle and the small tipping handle at the rear are fitted with ribbed blue and white ceramic grips decorated in a traditional Dutch Delft floral motif. This elegant fireplace accessory serves as a striking decorative accent piece, lending an air of historic European charm to a hearth, mantle, or entryway.
