Description
This is the famous Sauterelles (Grasshoppers) vase designed by René Lalique in 1912.
It is one of Lalique's most iconic and celebrated Art Deco masterpieces, featuring deeply molded relief grasshoppers resting on sweeping, stylized blades of grass that wrap entirely around the spherical body. This particular piece features a frosted and clear glass finish, enhanced with a colored blue enamel patina fired into the recesses to bring out the incredible detail of the insect molds. Made in France, signed on base.
