Description

An exquisite library, dining table or desk by Ralph Lauren. Drawing inspiration from French Provincial & Gothic styling. Made from solid oak with a rectangular top supported by two vase shaped supports leading to paw feet. The supports are connected by a through tenon trestle. Table apron showcases an exquisite egg and dart molding.

It is understood that the origins of decorative egg-and-dart mouldings date back to ancient Greek and Roman architecture. Profiles and rules of proportion served to support or separate surfaces, while implying a structural logic.

In 1983 Ralph Lauren Home Debuted. Frustrated by lack of choices and quality, Ralph launched his own collection. IT was the first for a clothing designer and included an array of offerings from bedding to rugs and other home decor. The collection was designed around four signature RL motifs; Thoroughbred, New England, Jamaica and Log Cabin.
