Description

Antique 1870s Lovejoy’s Weather house barometer, made of painted tin with two white figures in the doorways. Originally would have had a knob on the peak of the roof and a thermometer mounted on the front. Reverse has a worn label with instructions. An 1874 print advertisement found online states: “Lovejoy’s Metallic Weather Houses Indicate the changes in the weather, and are pretty mantel ornaments. The little lady appears in fair and the man in stormy weather, and they never make mistakes.
