Description
Royal Doulton George Tinworth toby character jug 7000.
About George Tinworth (1843–1913)
• The Doulton Connection: He spent most of his prolific career working at the Doulton factory in Lambeth, London. He was one of the first major artists hired by the pottery company to create high-end art stoneware.
• Artistic Style: He was widely known for producing highly detailed, expressive terracotta panels, vases, and relief work depicting Biblical scenes.
• The Whimsical Handle: The handle of the jug features a frog sitting on top of a mouse playing a musical instrument. This is a direct nod to Tinworth's famous series of humorous, miniature stoneware figurines that depicted comical mice and frogs engaged in various human activities (like playing music, boating, or drinking tea)
• Manufacturer: Royal Doulton (United Kingdom).
• Designer / Modeler: Designed by William K. Harper circa 1995
