Description
Vintage Joe Cilluffo signed limited edition print titled Round Island Light. The Round Island Lighthouse, located in the straits between Round Island and Mackinac Island, Michigan. Situated on a sand and cobblestone spit in the narrow channel connecting Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. The lighthouse was built in 1895 and began operations in 1896 to warn ships of a significant navigation hazard. It was automated in 1924 and decommissioned in 1947. After being damaged by a storm, it was stabilized and restored by volunteers, including the Boy Scouts, in the 1970s and 1990s. It was featured in the movie Somewhere in Time. Artist Proof 16/25, signed below the lighthouse. Circa 1997.
