Late 19th century black and white etching titled "Twilight" by Richard William Halfnight. River scene with small sail boats and the tower of a church / castle / country manor. Pencil signed, lower left. Remarke of a swan, lower edge. Signed in plate R Halfnight, lower right. Black and gold carved wood frame; white linen border; black mat.

"Richard William Halfnight (1855-1925) was a well respected painter and etcher. Born in Sunderland, he moved to London in the 1880s where he exhibited at Royal Academy and New Watercolour Society (later called Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour) before moving back north to Newcastle. He painted in both oils and watercolour and did mostly landscapes and coastal scenes." (Art and Stuff Gallery)
