"Richard William Halfnight (1855-1925) was a well respected painter and etcher. Born in Sunderland, he moved to London in the 1880s where he exhibited at Royal Academy and New Watercolour Society (later called Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour) before moving back north to Newcastle.
