Turn of the century yard long lithograph print designed by Fernand Fernel and printed by Ed. Sagot, showing a line of assorted vehicles including a bicycle, motorcycle and several early automobiles / coaches, the traffic briefly paused by a gendarme signaling the crossing of a chef carrying pots in a basket on his head. Beveled giltwood frame; black and light gray layered mat.

"Edmond-Honoré Sagot, born in Montlignon on August 19,1857 and died on April 6, 1917, is a bookseller, art dealer, publisher of original prints and posters. In 1881 he founded the house “Ed. Sagot” in Paris. This establishment still exists under the name “Sagot - Le Garrec” and is one of the oldest art galleries still in operation. Edmond Sagot is the first contemporary art dealer to specialize in prints and posters. Following his example, several print dealers emerged in the early 1890s : Gustave Pellet, Edouard Kleinmann, A. Arnould, then Ambroise Vollard, who served as a driving force in the development, sale and promotion of artists' prints contemporaries.
