“Paul Bridgford was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1952. He was the first person in Iowa to win more than one State Wildlife Stamp contest in one year. In 1980, he won both the Iowa Duck Stamp ( Redheads) and Trout Stamp (Brown Trout) competitions. 1981 he won the New Hampshire Pheasant Stamp Contest, and in 1983, he won all three Iowa Stamp Contests ( Duck Stamp, Widgeon)( Trout Stamp, Brown Trout)(Habitat Stamp, Hungarian Partridge), the first and only person ever to do so.
In 1985 he finished 2nd in the Federal Duck Stamp Contest. 1986 he again won all three Iowa Stamp Contests ( Duck Stamp, Blue Winged Teal)( Trout Stamp, Brook Trout)(Habitat Stamp, Wild Turkey). He has not entered the Iowa contest since, 1988 he won the Georgia Duck Stamp Contest( Ring-Necked Duck). He has finished in the top 10 in the Federal Duck Stamp Contest 9 times. He has over 37 limited Editions of his work in print, is not associated with any publisher.”
