Circa 1930 secretary desk by Cron-Kills Company. Made from walnut with a slant front that opens to a writing surface with cubbies above. Beneath the writings surface is a large drawer for accessory storage. Marked The CK Co, Piqua Ohio. Includes working lock and key.
Established in 1881 in Piqua, Ohio, the Cron-Kills Company was founded by A. J. Cron, R. B. Kills, Henry Flesh and Samuel Zollinger. The company produced a variety of wardrobes and ladies’ desks and was one of the largest businesses in Piqua and boasted one of the largest and best equipped furniture producing factories in the state of Ohio. The company operated until 1940 when they ceased trading.
