Description

An attractive French Provincial coffee or cocktail table, circa 1870s. Three richly colored walnut boards comprise the curved top and sport a marvelous patina with a trimmed apron. There are two hand dovetailed drawers within the frieze resting over a serpentine apron. The table is supported by long cabriole legs leading to a straight foot. Marked along the underside ""Made in France.""

Estate of J. Frederic Gagel, owner of multiple Thoroughbred race horses that competed in the Narragansett Special and Kentucky Derby. Their family heritage was strongly intertwined with the military having officers in battles dating back to the American Revolution.
