Watercolor painting by Richard Low Evans, featuring a beach/seascape with a large piece of driftwood in the foreground. Richard Low Evans (1919-1998) was born in Boston and earned a degree from the New England School of Art. After years in the graphic arts profession, including becoming the National art Director for Mead Packaging in Atlanta, Evans devoted his life to watercolor painting. His watercolors, which won several awards, captured scenes and life in Georgia, ranging from the Atlantic Coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Evans lived out his life in northern Georgia and is affiliated with the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association, to which, he left many of his paintings along with other generous endowments.
