Berkey & Gay Furniture Company began its roots in 1866 in Grand Rapids, Michigan creating fine furniture until 1948. This Secretary Chest is made from Mahogany with burled panels. The front is hand painted with a cameo between floral accents on the upper drawer. The secretary door shows a painted scene with 2 birds perched within flowers. Interior shows pigeon holes and a central drawer for storage. Cabinet drawers are all dovetailed. Panels are framed in a rectangular trim and brass hardware. The legs have bulbous reeded top that taper into arrow feet. Bears Berkey and Gays original Stamp 1905-1929. A fantastic piece that will make a great addition to any space. Matching pieces available.
