Biography from Viscontea Casa D'Aste

In 1911 Italian painter and engraver, Giovanni Giuliani started attending the Academy of Fine Arts in his city following the Ettore Tito courses for painting and the Free School of line engraving by Emanuele Brugnoli. After the war, in which he participates, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.

Over time he consolidated the knowledge of printmaking techniques to the point that, when Emanuele Brugnoli, in 1932, left the position of engraving professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, Giuliani was presented as his successor. Giuliani made a commitment to this position for almost three decades. Meanwhile he continued his artistic activities by participating in six editions of the Venice Biennale International Art (1920, 1924, 1936, 1938, 1948 and 1950) and taking part in many exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
