Bob Hayden Windy Creek Hand Carved & Painted Wood Pintail Drake Duck Decoy 21"

Description

This beautifully preserved Northern Pintail Drake duck decoy is a classic example of Michigan artisan Bob Hayden’s master craftsmanship from his 1986–87 Windy Creek Inc. collection. The piece captures the distinctively elegant, long-necked silhouette and upswept tail characteristic of the species, featuring a subtly turned head with inset glass eyes and deeply tiered, layered wing carvings. Its finish artfully blends smooth, stained natural wood grain with cream and soft green polychrome paints, all sealed under a rich topcoat that highlights the wood's texture. Inset securely into the flat bottom is the authentic circular Windy Creek Inc. brass medallion bearing a central songbird motif, the seasonal year stamp, and original protective felt bumpers, making it a highly collectible specimen of late-20th-century American waterfowl folk art.
