Vintage Royal Doulton 5612 porcelain character jug pitcher of John Peel, the famous English Huntsman wearing a black top hat with red hunting coat and cravat, and the handle is molded in the shape of a riding crop. John Peel (1776–1854) was a celebrated Cumbrian huntsman immortalized in the famous 19th-century folk song D'ye ken John Peel?. Notably, it was the first Royal Doulton character jug modeled after a real, historical person. Designed by Harry Fenton. Circa 1936-1960.
