Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut Burl Arched Full Size Headboard

Description

This striking antique Victorian Renaissance Revival full size headboard is a magnificent example of late 19th-century craftsmanship, showcasing an opulent blend of solid walnut and premium book-matched walnut burl veneer. Designed to serve as a dramatic focal point, the piece is defined by its high-arched, undulating silhouette and an elaborate multi-tiered scalloped crown featuring a central architectural cartouche block. At its heart lies a large, cloud-shaped inset panel framed by deeply carved dimensional ogee molding, which highlights the highly figured, symmetrical swirling patterns of the premium burl wood grain against the straight-grain walnut frame. The entire structure is anchored by thick, sturdy square side posts flanking a wide lower crossbeam, ensuring stability while preserving its historic integrity. It radiates a warm, amber-toned luster that emphasizes its beautifully aged patina.
