Antique English Regency Flame Mahogany Tooled Leather Telephone Smoking Table

Description

This antique English Regency style stepped telephone table or smoking stand is crafted from beautiful flamed mahogany, displaying a rich, luminous flame mahogany wood grain that transitions dynamically across its multi-tiered surface. The unique design features a lower horseshoe-shaped tier inset with a patinated brown tooled-leather top detailed with an elegant, embossed gold-leaf border. Behind it, a raised cubby or storage box tier provides a practical storage compartment, historically intended for phone books or writing stationery. The entire table is supported by four slender, square tapered legs that emphasize its delicate, minimalist silhouette and neoclassical influence. Finished in a warm honey-amber stain that highlights the contrasting wood tones and natural figuring, this highly functional accent piece brings a touch of classic early-20th-century refinement to a hallway, office nook, or bedside.
