This antique Edwardian bed frame is crafted from rich, warm mahogany and heavily characterized by its elegant fruitwood marquetry inlay. The commanding headboard features a prominent architectural stepped pediment crest rail sitting above three distinct wood panels: a large arched central mahogany panel flanked by two vertical panels, each decorated with an inlaid floral ribbon wreath motif. The lower footboard echoes this refined neoclassical design language with a large centerpiece panel displaying a prominent, horizontal inlaid laurel leaf wreath and bow design. Flanking this central footboard panel are open-air sections filled with thin, square vertical spindles that add a light, airy contrast to the substantial wood framing.
