Description

This vintage majolica figural vase features a highly textured, brown-glazed tree trunk that serves as the main vessel, complete with molded green ivy climbing its base. Standing alongside the tree is a detailed porcelain or ceramic figurine of a woman dressed in traditional European folk attire, featuring a blue bodice, a cream-colored apron with red geometric patterns, and a wide-brimmed hat decorated with a yellow plume. The back of the piece reveals the extensive hand-painted details of her attire, including the gathered fabric folds of her long grey skirt and puffy white sleeves, alongside the deep texture of the rustic bark glaze that wraps completely around the hollow tree trunk vessel. The underside of the structure is marked by the manufacturer with an impressed mold number 2203, a hand-painted decorator's mark reading "2 D.", and a remnant of a vintage collection paper label. The entire scene is anchored on a rustic, rocky base decorated with painted patches of green moss and stone textures.
