Description
This set of six antique, high-backed dining chairs features an ornate Renaissance Revival style crafted from dark, heavily carved walnut. Each striking tall backrest is anchored by turned column supports on either side, leading up to an elaborate, pierced crest rail decorated with detailed floral and acanthus leaf carvings and flanked by small finials. At the center of each chair, a rectangular upholstered back panel in rich burnt orange velvet is bordered by decorative metal upholstery tacks. The matching velvet-cushioned seats are supported by a sturdy undercarriage, highlighted by prominent bulbous turned front legs and straight back legs, all interconnected by a low H-stretcher for structural stability.
