"KMD ROYAL HOLLAND PEWTER is a registered trademark owned by N.V. KONINKLIJKE METAALWARENFABRIEKEN VOORHEEN J.N. DAALDEROP & ZONEN. The company was founded in 1880 by J.N. Daalderop. Household items were manufactured in the style of the new art, a sleek variant of Art Nouveau. These were crockery, pots and dishes, kettles, and kerosene and gas lamps. In 1917, the company was converted into a public limited company, the Royal Metal Goods Factory formerly J.N. Daalderop and Sons. Around this time, household electrical appliances came into use and Daalderop added to the production range. This started with an electrically heated shaver tray, and soon boilers were also manufactured. The style of the products evolved to that of art deco and the Amsterdam School. The family business was under the undisputed leadership of Johan Daalderop (1883-1961). The Second World War meant a temporary setback: looting of inventory by the German occupying forces and destruction of the company building by Allied fire. But after the war the company revived and covered almost all facets of light metal working, with its own stamping and tool shop, stamping shop, forcing shop, sheet metal shop, metal turning shop, copper and tin foundry, polishing and grinding shop, electroplating shop and paint shop and finally the assembly department. Copper and pewter articles and gas cylinders, jerry cans, lighting items, electric heating devices and hot water reservoirs were produced. A specialty of the company remained the manufacture of pewter products. The Royal Holland Pewter trademark was filed on 26 Mar 1964 and registered on 21 June 1966. In 1969, the family business merged with another family business in a partly related sector, Etna. The merged company was then taken over by Internatio-Müller. In the 1970s, short-time work and mass layoffs followed. In particular, tin production, half of which was exported to the US, was under pressure. Like that of household objects, it was discontinued in the 1980s. The company focused on heating equipment, especially boilers. As of 14 Jan 1989, the Royal Holland Pewter trademark was allowed to expire. Also, in 1989, Internatio-Müller sold Daalderop to the Irish company Unidare PLC. In 2011, Daalderop entered into a partnership with Itho, which is based in Etten-Leur and Schiedam, and has since been called Itho Daalderop. Since 2015, Itho Daalderop and Klimaatgarant have together formed the CFL Holding. In September 2023, Itho Daalderop and Klimaatgarant were sold to Swedish heating major industrialist NIBE Industrier for 640 million euros." (Wikipedia / Trademarkia)
