Features the emblem of the army at the center in red (Fur den Schutz Der Arbeiter-und-Bauern-Macht (For the protection of workers and farmers power)) with the legend "Ehrenvoll Gedient Bei der Nationalen Volksarmee" (Served honorably In the National People's Army) around it. Yellow rays divide images of army life / activities. The corners feature images of planes, ships, tanks, and the words Zur Erinnerung (as a reminder) within a yellow and red frame.
