Set of 12 mother of pearl handled table knives by Meriden Cutlery Co. Blades marked with number 12. Beaded and floral repousse silver collars. Includes felt wrapper (not original to knives).

"The Meriden Cutlery Company was formed in 1855 as the successor / reformation of the Pratt, Ropes, Webb & Company with Julius Pratt as President and David Nicholas Ropes as secretary and treasurer. In July of 1918 the company was acquired by Landers, Frary, & Clark, who continued to make their products and use their trademark until at least 1924.
