"George F. Bassett & Company - An import company founded in New York City by George W. Bassett as G.W. Bassett & Co in 1874. His son, George F. Bassett, and E.F. Anderson took over the business in 1879, changing the name to George F. Bassett & Co. The company had a factory in Limoges and may have had one in Austria. Porcelain was also imported from factories in Bohemia and Czechoslovakia. The circular Bassett Limoges Austria mark is said to have been used from circa 1890-1963, although another source suggests the import company closed in 1914."
