J.B. Sciver Co. French Provincial Louis XV Rococo Satinwood Nightstand End Table

Description

Elegant satinwood nightstand with ornate hand painted gold trim by J.B. Van Sciver Co. A Serpentine form with tiered design allowing for two surfaces for display. Lower Door opens with a cast bronze pull for storage. Made by the J. B. Van Sciver Co. of Camden, New Jersey, which was in business from 1881-1984. The company produced a wide variety of furniture in contemporary and previous era styles as well as western and eastern styles, and including everything from bed and dining sets to lamps, clocks, rugs, curtains and custom-made draperies. Styles ranged from ornate and oriental to the more simplistic mission and colonial furniture. They even produced their own brand of furniture polish which sold for 45 cents in the 1920s.

Condition

Good Vintage Condition; some paint wear and distressing commensurate with age. Chipping to molding, finish wear to surfaces.
