Pair of early 20th century Hofbrauhaus gray salt glaze stoneware beer steins / tankards with painted decoration and pewter lids - one features oversized steins on pedestals, surrounded by ribboned arches, being admired by a pair of portly figures over the words "Mvenchner Siegesallee". The other depicts a portly gentleman enjoying a beer, accompanied by two pigs on leashes and the words "A Minkner Mass schmecktguat", and the artists initials AR, for August Roessler (1866-1934) - designed circa 1920. The mugs have a capcity of 4/10 and 0.5 Liters respectively and both sport tin flip top lids.
