Antique Japanese Meiji Period vanity box in the form of a miniature armoire / chifferobe or Tallboy dresser, circa late 19th century. A rectangular form made from wood with black lacquer finish. Hand painted in red and gold featuring a foliate and bird design. Includes 5 drawers, cabinet with interior dividers, trapdoor below and upper sectioned compartment. The chest is supported by bracket feet and comes with the original key. The perfect organizer for curiosities, rings, necklaces and other jewelry.

Condition

Good Antique Condition. Lock no longer catches on the interior cabinet. Upper crown cracked and repaired along right side.
