Two fantastic framed botanical prints stemming from Welsh botanist Griffith Hughes' [1707–1758) research publication "The Natural History of Barbados [pub. 1750]. The book captures Hughes' recorded observations of the natural botanical features of the island over a period of of several years. The illustrative prints are taken from illustrations done by famed German botanist, botanical illustrator and entomologist, George Dionysius Ehret (G.D. Ehret) and sculpted to plate by J. Mynde [1740-1770], sculptor. These are vintage (mid-20th century) lithographs derived from the plate printing process.
