Description
Circa 1930s early American style ladies desk by the Cron-Kils Company. Made from walnut with a flip top writing surface that pulls out to a drawer with cubbies. Marked along lower side. Established in 1881 in Piqua, Ohio, the Cron-Kills Company was founded by A. J. Cron, R. B. Kills, Henry Flesh and Samuel Zollinger. The company produced a variety of wardrobes and ladies’ desks and was one of the largest businesses in Piqua and boasted one of the largest and best equipped furniture producing factories in the state of Ohio. The company operated until 1940 when they ceased trading.
