Description

Antique American industrial Joseph Uhl designed office/ice cream parlor chairs by Toledo Metal Furniture Co.
These UHL "art steel" four legged chairs contain a mostly uniform dark/brushed steel finish with traces of the original copper plated finish.
Features folded rivits, joint steel frames, with metal strips folded over and molded into a heart shape, which flares outward to join the seats.
Cabriole legs are bolted to the circular seat frames with three strips of steel pinched together in the center and flaring above and below to form the splats.
These chairs are often identified as the UHL art steel "perfection" chairs or #151 by the Toledo Metal Furniture Co.
They were often purchased by druggists, soda dispensers, factories and offices.

Condition

Very good structurally, Original finish is mostly gone, now just a nice patina remains.
Seats refinished at some point with the red leather.
