Description
The Sun Manufacturing Company was originally created by John M. Waddell (John M. Waddell Manufacturing Company ). Waddell joined into a partnership with E. L. McClain and others which lasted several years. Then McClain bought out Waddell, changed the name to the Sun Manufacturing Company and moved it to Columbus, Ohio.
There it operated from 1904 until 1926, manufacturing display cabinets and coffee mills. This piece is indicative of their specialty. Made from Oak with glass on all sides. Features an adjustable shelf and sliding rear doors. Rear doors have place for a lock. This type of piece would have predominantly been found in general stores on counter tops. Along the base board the piece has a metal plaque marked The Sun Manufacturing Co.
