Description

These primitive artifacts were acquired between 1960 and 1965 by medical missionaries from the Lutheran Church who lived in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea among the Enga tribe. Age of the pieces at the time of acquisition is unknown, so quite possibly antique. The Enga men participated in tribalwarfare, making and using bows and arrows and spears as weapons.
