Description

Original set of ''Four Freedoms'' posters by Norman Rockwell from 1943, the format size of 28 x 40''. This size was a very rare print as most you will find are of the largest or smaller size. Four posters depict ''Freedom of Speech'', ''Freedom of Worship'', ''Freedom from Want'' and ''Freedom from Fear'', four tenets of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union address that were subsequently incorporated into the United Nations charter. Rockwell was so inspired by the speech that he created the oil paintings in 1943, which were then featured in ''The Saturday Evening Post'' and reproduced as war bond posters by the Office of War Information. Original posters have OWI printing information at bottom, including the date of 1943.
